United Behind a Cause
I can’t say enough what a great honor it was to be a part of the Pathway project. I was moved by Jeremiah’s original post in the Connecting Comic Book Creators group and wanted to make this into something bigger than “just a commission.” I saw a bigger platform, the comic book variety, that had the power to reach people’s hearts and imaginations in a way that other mediums just couldn’t manage. Jeremiah’s creation was filled with heart and purpose and I wanted to breathe life into it and transform it into something bigger than all of us (creators). So, with the generous help of some amazing team mates and Colton’s Legacy, we built the team, the momentum and the community around Pathway.
Jeremiah’s undying commitment to seeing this project to fruition, kept the fuel on the fire and helped challenge the creative team. Donovan blew my mind with his amazing character concepts and sequential artwork. Kieran was a later addition, but much needed to keep the project on track with dynamite inks. And Danny, at Dave Lentz’ suggestion, seemed to be the missing piece to get the colors done in a timely and professional manner down the home stretch. When Lucas polished the finished art off with some incredible letters, I knew this was a project that showed both class and a lot of heart.
We truly hope that Pathway touches you in the same way it did for us. We dreamt of a hero that could inspire and encourage anyone that dares to open the pages of this humble comic book. It is our dream that perhaps there is more in store for Pathway, possibly beyond the covers of a comic book. And we hope that we can continue to bring smiles and hope to not only the Cystic Fibrosis community and their families, but everyone that has ever needed a little boost of confidence or a hero of their own to look up to.
Thank you for taking this journey with us.
And no matter what you do, do it with heart!
